If we’ve said it once we’ve said it a million times – the Mediterranean Diet rocks! Seriously, it is the only diet that I know of that has been proven over and over to drastically reduce your risk for heart disease. I mean, if I told you that by changing your diet you could reduce your risk of heart disease by nearly 50% would you believe me? A new study is claiming similar facts.

The Study

According to the Los Angeles Times, a new study makes clear that whatever one’s age, gender or health status, sticking with the Mediterranean diet is the single most powerful step a person can take to drive down his or her heart disease risk.

In a 10-year study of 2,583 Greek adults, those who adhered most closely to the Mediterranean diet were nearly half as likely as those who followed it least to develop, or die from, heart disease.

The study went on to say that no matter the age or gender, a Mediterranean Diet will improve cardiovascular health. So what is the Mediterranean Diet? Let’s walk you through it…

Red Wine – While physicians don’t want to encourage everyone to run out stock up on red wine to improve heart health, they are coming around to the idea that red wine can be healthy if used responsibly. By responsibly, we don’t mean a bottle an evening or a morning fiesta as you watch Hoda and Kathy. We mean a small glass with dinner, and that’s it.

According to WebMD, antioxidants in red wine called polyphenols may help protect the lining of blood vessels in your heart. Another element is resveratrol, and according to WebMD, Resveratrol might be a key ingredient in red wine that helps prevent damage to blood vessels, reduces “bad” cholesterol and prevents blood clots.

Red wine extract is a key element in Cardio Juvenate Plus, added for it’s numerous heart benefits.

Nuts – Nuts contain fatty acids and arginine, two key elements in improving cardiovascular health. Eating nuts can lower LDL (low-density lipoprotein or “bad” cholesterol). Nuts can also reduce your risk of developing blood clots that can cause a fatal heart attack, according to WebMD.

Arginine, of which nuts are very high in, is one of the most important ingredients in the Cardio Juvenate formula. With 5,000 mg of L arginine, Cardio Juvenate has the ability to improve heart health.

Fish – Fish contain omega-3 fatty acids as well as citrulline, two ingredients that have been shown to improve heart health. We have included citrulline in Cardio Juvenate Plus to assist L arginine in the production of nitric oxide, the body’s essential element for cardiovascular health.
